Ahead of the 2026 budget, our provincial government has been focused on announcing new industry developments.
They’ve been preoccupied with cost-cutting measures.
They talk of economic growth and creating new jobs, for the future of Newfoundland and Labrador.
But they say nothing about who will be doing those jobs one day – our kids.
We are disappointed that education has been left out of the conversation.
Today’s students are tomorrow’s doctors and nurses, engineers and tradespeople, educators and leaders.
We must give our schools and teachers the support they need to prepare our children – for a future they’ll make better for all of us.
Education must always be a priority in Newfoundland and Labrador. Everything else depends on it.
